Case Management Handbook

The Federal Court of Australia Case Management Handbook has been prepared by members of the Federal Litigation Section of the Law Council in conjunction with the Federal Court of Australia.

The Handbook contains a wealth of information on procedures and best practice in areas including:

  • The mechanics of case management
  • Identifying and narrowing the issues
  • Alternative dispute resolution
  • Discovery of documents
  • Discovery of “facts”
  • Interlocutory application
  • Evidence of witnesses
  • Documentary evidence
  • Expert evidence.

The principal aims of the Handbook are to highlight the case management tools and techniques available to the Court and practitioners, which will assist in ensuring the quick, inexpensive and efficient resolution of proceedings before the Court.
