CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In recognition of the barriers faced by South Pacific lawyers in accessing quality CPD, SPLA is committed to developing co-ordinated and sustainable CPD initiatives that respond to the needs and priorities of lawyers in South Pacific jurisdictions.
EVENTS
Individually and in partnership with national, regional and international institutions, SPLA delivers events aimed at professional development, discussing national and regional legal issues, and strengthening linkages between South Pacific lawyers.
STUDIES AND PUBLICATIONS
Since 2008, SPLA has conducted research and analysis on a number of issues highlighted by its membership. Topics include regulation of the legal profession and the representation of women in the profession.
ROSS RAY QC SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year, the Law Council of Australia and the Australian Bar Association partner to support two early career South Pacific barristers to attend the ABA's prestigious Essential Trial Advocacy Course.
